Liberty Arts Festival 2019
Updated: Jun 13, 2020
It was forecasted to be a very hot day in Morris, Illinois for the Festival, and they were right. It was so hot that a few vendors cancelled. I, on the other hand, had no intention of backing down. I was determined to get a painting out of the day no matter what they predicted, so I set up my watercolor box around 10am and began to work.
Painting on the street in the hot sun wasn't too awful. A lot of water, a lot of breaks, and a lot of ice rags to my neck helped.
Finally, around 2:30pm, I gave up. It was finished. Adding any more paint would just be fiddling around, so I signed it and sat under our tent until 4pm (take down time).
I was happy. It was a good day. I got the painting I wanted.
